“Every time I am driving in the City of Houston, I am visibly reminded of an epidemic plaguing our nation. There are many Americans that go without food daily in neighborhoods across the country. A lot of organizations however often focus on foreign initiatives instead of developing concrete domestic programs. The state of Texas, where I live, has one of the highest food insecurity rates (individuals that live in hunger or fear of starvation) in the country.
I feel we must do something to help people that are less fortunate than we are. We must do something for children born into circumstances beyond their control requiring them to live below the poverty line. We must do something for all people living below the poverty line that are doing the best they can and still lack adequate food.
We can make a difference one neighborhood, one family, and one community at a time. I challenge every person that visits this website to sponsor at least one meal for one needy family a month. As your resources increase, I challenge you to do more. We can begin to “Liberate Americans from Hunger” one life at a time. I believe strongly in this mission and I invite you to join me by starting in your local community.”
