Martin Luthre King Hodges (M.L. Hodges) has worked in community service, sales, marketing, business development and technology for the past ten years. At the age of 22, his professional career started at IBM where he served as a Client Representative in the Industry Solutions Unit. Hodges later worked for Xerox as an Account Executive and for a private firm as a marketing representative. He has also worked in the public sector on the non-profit development side.
After recognizing the tremendous need for small businesses in the areas of technology infrastructure, corporate identity, and training; Hodges founded L.E.A.D. Co. (Local Entrepreneurship and Development Company)-a business dedicated to assisting small businesses in their technology development. Since then, Hodges has worked with several companies and organizations in the areas of web development, opensource software integration and technology consulting.
In 2007, M.L. Hodges founded Liberate Magazine. The magazine highlights the lives of entrepreneurs primarily in their first five years of business. The magazine also highlights resources and educational avenues that are available to entrepreneurs. The articles in Liberate Magazine are meant to “tell their stories” and present the vast opportunities in life to create independent living through entrepreneurship.
Mr. Hodges holds a B.S. Degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from Texas A& M University. He has also completed some graduate coursework at the Keller Graduate School of Management M.B.A. program. In addition, M.L. Hodges has completed professional development at the Boys and Girls Clubs of America Program Institute, IBM Sales and Marketing Training and Xerox Corporation Sales Training.
M.L. Hodges enjoys writing, playing the piano and the guitar in his spare time. He is also a portrait artist and photographer. You can often see his work integrated into web design and corporate identity materials for clients. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
